I have the gage, but if the needles have markings, it would be a lot easier to match needles and packages. Then I will be more careful to keep them in their correct packages. Havent checked it out, but sure like the idea of the ID mate being able to read the packages, if only they were in the right packages, ha, ha.

Last year at convention you purchased from me a knitting needle gauge. It was in the shape of a hat and had holes in it ranging in size for knitting needles from something like 0 to size 15 or larger. Circular needles I do not know if they have sizes printed on them or not. I use my knitting gauge.

I have found that it will read or identify knitting needles and crochet hooks. The barcodes are on the packages so you need to keep them in the plastic sleeves the knitting needles come in.

The omni works grate! I use mine at work and home at least 3 times a week and have been using it lately for my paints since all of them come from the store with a bar code on the bottle and if it isn't in the data base I can add it .

We have talked about the ID Mate and with Gail's demonstration over the phone to me last year I just had to get one. I did get the summit model, but this is a good price and if they refurbished it I am sure they put the
updated data file in it. I was told that they update the data file twice
a year and the newest one will be out in April, but I love mine.
If you go to National Convention and bring along your data card they will update it for free.[at least that is what Gail reported to me.
