[Nfb-krafters-korner] spool of thread

Laura, Dixie, Joyce thank you for the ideas. These spools have no paper.
They are those small ones that come in kits. The last actual large spool of
thread I bought was that thicker thread to recover, by hand, lol, my out
door covers for my chairs. I have no sewing machine, lol. Boy what a job
sewing all those covers and now they need redone. I am buying them, though I
did truly enjoy sewing the covers by hand. My friend cut the fabric for me.
She just shook her head and left, smile. Anyway, so the end was easy to feel
under that paper.

I will try again the pin under a thread to find the ends. Would the end of
the thread be in the middle of the spool, or end near the sides of the
spool?

Joyce, sorry, I was just kidding about Jake biting the spools, sorry. Jake
grew up at a retreat center. He is very good about my yarn and spools. Only
twice did he steel a ball of yarn. He took it to his bed and used it for a
pillow, sweet smile. Now the lab is another story, grimmus. He gets shewed
out of my studio all the time. Now where can I find a baby gate to let the
golden in at will, and the lab stay out. To compromise, I have a bed in my
studio both can come to, but no moving off that bed except to leave. The
bed is a rug.

Becky and Jake, Hey goilys, my mommas gots a silly sense of humor. Cross my
paws I am a good pup, soft wimper.

I think the end thread goes through a tiny notch on one end of the spool,
and then is held down by being pasted under the label. If you take your
fingernail and scrape around for the notch, then try and peel up the label
right there, you may find the end of the thread.
So has that ever worked for me? Yes, on occasion. If that fails, recruiting

a sighted family member is the next approach.
Good luck.

Ok, help, My wonderful son gave me a little sewing box. So Oopse, I did get
crafting stuff for Christmas, shy smile. All these spools are new, grown
how do you find the end of brand new spools of thread. What sort of little
tricks do you all have?

This sewing box is cool. One side has needles in a little sample tube you
get sample perfumes in, seem ripper, threader, safety pins in a little box,
straight pins in another little box, scissors, pin cushion. You close that
side and flip it over and open the other side then you have thirty little
spools of thread. A very thoughtful gift, smile.

What tricks do you use to open and find the beginning thread of new spools?

Becky and Jake who says, just bite the spool in two, arf!
