[Nfb-krafters-korner] Plastic Canvas and Latch Hook

It would be so nice to have some of those Dixie! I've always wished I could
quilt because of the classic designs. So, this is a new way of possibly
doing it! Are there quilt printables online so a sighted person could cut
them out or do you have to buy a book?

Lots of quilting patterns would work for this. Jacob's Ladder, Flying
Geese, Tumbling Blocks to name a few. There are quilt pattern books, with
100s of quilt block patterns. It would take some sighted assistance, but,
one could help by cutting out the patterns of the block in a plastic, I like
to use old milk jugs, or old laundry soap containers. Then you have a
tactile version of the quilt block. Once you have a bunch of patterns,
you can even mix and match, seeing how a triangle fits with a rectangle, and
make up your own pattern. The names are only names given to the blocks as
the stitcher thought the pattern resembled thus and such.

usan and Dixie,

Thank you for these quilting designs. They are classic and also lend
themselves to a number of media. If you know others, do share! This way, we
create in our own way but if a sighted person sees it, they say oh that's
log cabin or crazy or whatever it is. I love it.

Yep, that pattern would work with the latch hook and the plastic canvis as
well.
