[Nfb-krafters-korner] Concerns About the future of Krafters Korner

Dear KK friends,

As you should be well aware, I have kept my silence concerning recent issues that have transpired on this list. After reading each email (some of them several times over,) I have come to some very appalling conclusions.
I am aware that we as a group have grown to well over 100 persons. Most of the people either have not taken time to really think about the things that have been said in recent weeks, or they just plain do not care because they feel that they are not affected by the situation. However, I feel that those of us who still have a conscience, need to voice our concerns if for no other reason, that we would not want to have anyone to take advantage of us in this way.
First of all, it has become very obvious to me that the "leaders" of this group are very much like "wolves in sheeps' clothing" portraying themselves to be interested only in sharing and teaching crafts as a friendly gesture. When in fact, it is clear to me that the motive behind this group is for the prophet of gain thru possibly monetary means by the leaders of this organization. This is why I say that they are "wolves." On the surface they seem to care about helping others, but in reality they plan to help themselves. I can understand why that those who are not teachers, and those who have taught classes using someone else's material would not have a problem with the leaders selling the recordings and materials. However, if we were in the shoes of those who have spent time and effort coming up with there original ideas, I am sure that this would be a slap in the face. I personally am hurting for those who are being mistreated in this manner. I am also hurting for the ones who are clearly being insensitive of those who have worked so hard to make classes available. I know that there are more than a few teachers, but there are just a few who have taken the time to give totally original ideas and it is for those that I hurt the most. Not only have the leaders totally ignored the wishes of these persons who have asked that there materials not be sold, but as has been mention previously on the list, the leaders are possibly looking into having lawyers get involved. This would not be necessary if the leaders were to abide by the original agreement that only those attending class would be allowed to get the recordings As stated by the President in an email previously, "It has been NFB Krafters Division policy that recordings are only for the
students who attend a class. This will continue to be our policy.
Classes will be recorded and only be given to the students who attend the class."
My question is "when did this change? If so, was it change by the "board," or did the members even have a say>? It is clear to me, that if things were being handled in an honest manner that none of this would have ever gotten started. If the President of Krafters Korner would just stand up and take charge of the situation and say that the recordings that have been done in the past will not be sold, things just might be straightened out. I do realize however, that no matter what happens in the future, KK will never be the same. People have clearly been hurt, ugly attitudes have surfaced, and others have clearly made it known that they don't even care about there fellow crafters. We should be lifting one another up, not tearing them down. With all of this being said, I really believe that all of this could have been avoided if the one person who should have handled things would have done so. I am clearly in agreement with those who are being wrongfully done. I don't even care if $1000 or $5000.00 is in the treasury, things should be done on the up and up. Joyce, step up to the position you have taken and handle it like the person you should be. I for one refuse to be a part of a group that clearly displays deception and if this is not resolved quickly I will remove myself from this list. Further more, those of you who are not dishonest people, you should be in agreement and you should not want to take part in such doings either. KK is a wonderful list and I appreciate all that I have learned and all the wonderful people that I have met. However, I refuse to be taking part with any kind of ruthless deception. I don't want to leave this list, but I will if it becomes necessary. Sincerely, Carla Roller
