[Nfb-krafters-korner] FQ: What new craft would you like to learn and how will you go about doing this?

I am going to learn spinning using a drop spindle this year. Basically, I
plan on scouring the web for videos and instructions (did some of this
previously but did not own the equipment to actually try it).

For Christmas, I asked for and received a spindle and some roving to
practice on. My goal is to become skilled enough to spin some of my deceased
cat's fur into something special. Two of my new cats have almost the same
fur so I can obtain enough to work with. It will probably be used for some
fingerless gloves. I do not plan on regularly spinning or selling my
spinning. However, there is a sock yarn that I like that is being
discontinued. It contains elastic and has worked really well for me. There
is only one other sock any where that I can find that has elastic. If the
new yarn doesn't behave the way I want, I might have to try spinning my own
sock yarn.

Wish me luck and hopefully by the end of the year I will be spinning away!
