9 patch you sew strips of fabric together on the sewing machine in this
fashion:
dark, light and dark. Then you sew strips in this fashion:
light dark and light. You then cut these sewn strips into:
[if you used 1 inche squares have mersy on you] [I myself have done this
using 2 1/2 inch strips which yield a finished block size of 6 inches when
completely sewn.

OK back to the cutting, so if you did use 2 1/2 inch strips You would first
press the seams on your long strips that you just sewed 3 strips together.
You press the seams toward the dark side of the strip.[press both seams
together in the direction of the dark side.

Next you cut the selvedge edges off the top and bottom of this long strip.
[I would cut these 2 1/2 inch strips selvedge to selvedge.] There is more
that you need to do and I am leaving out the template sq square and
other tool I used that had grids in that were measured out 1/2 inches between
each grid.][The rotary cutter slips into these grids . You even edges up
and hold down this grid and cut.

The pattern name is evading my Silverstone brain at the moment.

It is basically made up of 2 blocks, and 2 colors.

Block A is made up of 9 little blocks.
Block A1 and Block A2.

Block A1 is 1 inch squares, alternating.
Row 1 is navy, cream, navy.
Row 2 is Cream, Navy, Cream.
Row 3 is Navy, Cream, Navy.

Block A2 is all cream.

Block A is assembled row 1 Block A1, A2, and A1.
Row 2 is A2, A1, A2.
And row 3 is A1, A2, A1.

Block b is solid cream.

The quilt top is assembled:

Row 1 Block a, block b, block a
Row 2 is block B, Block A, Block B.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 ending with a row 1.

I made it by machine. I did make it while I was sighted, but, would think
it would be easy enough to make blind as long as someone would mark the
right sides of the fabric.

Dixie,

Thank you for these suggestions. Another question for you. Last week you
mentioned you have a quilt top you made some where. Did you do this by
machine or hand sewing/?

Except for making Barbie blankets can you do anything else with weaving
besides trying it.
