[Nfb-krafters-korner] Knifty Knitter Basics for Round Loom

Hi,

Thanks so much to everyone who has responded to my question about craft options. I decided to try the Knifty Knitter since it seems like a good project to do during March Madness which is set to begin. I purchased the set of round looms and a couple skeins of yarn at Michaels. I also have the PDF instructions, which seem easy enough, but putting into practice, not so much. Is there a preferred way to cast on? I did a quick google search and apparently there are different methods.

I'm also wondering about yarn. I was talking with my aunt in New York, who knits but not with a loom, and she said there are brands she will not buy because it can take four hours to find the end. So it's not just me. My friend finally fished it out but we had trouble. What weights and brands are best to use with the looms?

My aunt also said she's looked at the looms and thinks a long loom would be better for a scarf. That makes sense but let's see if I can master the round one first. Maybe I can aspire to a shawl.
