[Nfb-krafters-korner] Happy Mother's Day

I was eleven and so board stuck in a wheelchair with my broken leg.  I asked
mom to teach me how to crochet. Mom said no I couldn't learn because I was
blind.  Aunt Olive said "lil try and teach her."  A couple days later my mom
taught me how to knit on huge needles.  I made a throw for over my legs,
smile.  Then she taught me how to crochet and the rest is history, smile.
Wow that was fourty three years ago. Yes I am fifty four, smile.  I feel
like a kid so excited learning such cool things from those on this list.

Happy Mother's Day to each of you!
I was thinking of crafting and my Mother - at a very young age, probably 8, 
my Mother taught me to do embroidery. I still remember it was a blue outline

on a white tea towel. The picture was a set of three glasses with a 
criss-cross design to resemble pressed glass. I was at my Grandmother's 
house, and we sat in the kitchen as she taught me the stitches. Thus, began 
a life-time interest in the fiber arts for me.

How about you?  How did your mother influence YOU in making a craft of some 
kind?
