Your bowl sounds lovely, Annette.
I know what you mean about kiln work. I do all my glazing and kiln firings
at a local arts center - I sign up for the pottery course which is four
times a year. I have been doing this since I lost my sight nearly 4 years
ago. I thought about buying a kiln and doing all my own firing here and
putting in a full pottery shop in my studio, but decided that I do not want
to do that. I do work with the clay in my studio here, then after it is
hardened, it is transported to the art center for glazing/firings. It works
just fine for me and this way it remains fun and not a JOB. I am a retired
art professor, and I do not need to put in a full shop and them have to work
at it like a job. This way, it is relaxed and remains fun for me.

I will be having my first one person exhibition at a museum gallery in Sept
- first since sight loss. So, I have been working constantly getting my
things ready for this show. It is an enormous JOB, with many many details to
be done months in advance. Lots more to do than just show up with the
finished pottery.
