Hello Therese
Welcome to Krafters Korner. We have all types of crafting skills here and

Hello All:
My name is Therese and I reside in California's San Joaquin central Valley.
The craft I most enjoy is knitting.
While I am not a beginner, by no means am I an advanced knitter either. I
can read a pattern pretty well and can complete the majority of stiches. (I
will post my question separately as it may help others in the future.)
I began knitting over 20 years ago. /Motivating factor was that my sister
was having her first child and I went to purchase a baby blanket. After
shocked by cost and lack of quality, I figured I could do it myself. Well I
did and the blanket was a success. It still lives today. A little tattered
but it still lives 23 years later!!
The majority of my projects revolve around afghans and blankets. Those are
pretty safe projects. But it is now time to advance as one of my friend's
daughter is expecting her first baby in a few weeks.
Currently I am working on 2 projects 1) afghan and 2) baby blanket.
What I hope to gain from this group are techniques to enhance my own
knitting and to then share these skills with other visually impaired
persons
within my community.
I work as a counselor and often come across individuals who have
experienced
various degrees of vision loss and now feel they can no longer perform the
craft they love e.g. knitting, quilting, and the list goes on.
I look forward to participating in your group. I also hope I can provide
information that can benefit others.
Therese
