I do not look at what I am doing and I can put tooth paste on my brush. It is easy! Open the tube and put the cap by the edge of the sink, so it will not fall off the counter. Put your finger on the brissles and tutch the brissles with the top of the tube. Squeze the tube. You will feal the tooth paste go on the tooth brush with your finger and will know when you want to stop. You will get a little on your finger, maybe. This way you can shair with others. I had to all my life. Your finger on the edge prevents the tooth paste from falling off, most of the time.

I will have to try doing it that way. I never thought of just putting it in my mouth. I have my own bathroom and he has his so I will give it a try.

Oh yes, the GFI outlet can be challenging, but I somehow manage it but still don't like it. Measuring liquid medication for my daughter when she was small was a real challenge. I had many different contraptions for measuring, but I never got to the point where I felt 100% confident with any of them. As I think back on it, maybe a factor in my discomfort with it was the fear of harming my daughter if I got the dosage wrong.
Oh, about the toothpaste, after hearing that some many others squirt it right into their mouth, I have moved to a new comfort level with it despite how long I have been doing it. Until this conversation on this list, I've never told anyone that I do it that way.

I am enjoying reading this... It is interesting to hear that we have all
sort of figured out the toothpaste dilemma basically with the same outcome.
I first started by putting the toothpaste onto the tip of my finger like I used to do on my toothbrush, now, it is just so much easier to just squeeze it right into the mouth!
Two of the most challenging things for me, about being blind and doing things blindly during my adjustment to overnight blindness were: putting razor blade to leg, and plugging in electrical cords into the flat GFI outlets.
So many people say how they would just curl up in a corner and feel sorry for themselves if they went blind. My response to that is that we only have one life. This is not a dress rehearsal. If I were to do that I would only be hurting myself and the ones who are around me and love me the most.
Instead, I choose to live the life the good Lord has given me, and be thankful for the gifts He continues to give me.
I am abundantly blessed, and as the song says, I once was blind, but now I see! I see many things so much clearer now that I am not using my eyes.
