Ohio, thanks for pointing this out. Yes, you must have MS-Office 2007,
MS-Office 2010, or the downloadable converter for MS-Office 2003 to be able
to read documents saved in the DOCX format when created in MS-Office 2007 or
2010. It does not make a difference if you are running the Windows XP or
the wWindows7 operating system.

HTH,
Annette

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] craft patterns in .docx format

Hello all,

I received a couple files from crafters recently in .docx format. I could
not open them and did not know what to do until I was inspired last night. I
went to the Microsoft website and put a search in for .docx file converter
and immediately found that Microsoft has a converter for free that is easy
to download and install. I was reading my .docx files within minutes.

I also learned that a .docx file is what word for windows 7 uses. It is not
immediately compatible with previous versions of word for windows unless one
downloads a converter.

So, for anyone else who has been perplexed by these files, now you know what
to do!

Ohio
