Thanks for the imfo. I knew it was on the site, but did not know how to tell anyone how to find it. I am not the greatest with web sites, but am improving, now I learned the links command.

Lynda, Your state's NFB affiliate president is James "Jim" Antonacci of Philadelphia and I'll give his contact data below. Anyone can quickly locate the NFB state presidents and their contact information by going to www.nfb.org then to FAST FACTS then on down that list to STATE PRESIDENTS LIST. Or, better yet go to www.nfb.org then to TOPIC INDEX and after the alphabet pops up, go to S for STATE AFFILIATES (or just to A for AFFILIATES) and zoom to an alphabetical list of all the state NFB presidents with their contact information and contact information for other blindness agencies in your state. Anyway, here's Jim:

PENNSYLVANIA
James Antonacci
42 S. 15th St., Suite 222
Philadelphia, PA 19102-2206
NFB of PA: 215-988-0888
Home: 215-659-4359
E-mail: president at nfbp.org

May I suggest that all readers of this listserv check out the short list of links under FAST FACTS? It will most likely help you with the next person who asks where to find NFB help.

That is why I found David Andrews e-mail, for her. Now if she wants freedom, she needs to take the next step. We both have given her some resources to use. Now it is her job.
Good luck Linda!

Sounds like a simple call to the center where Linda got her O and M. Have that O and M specialist call the blind center she wants to use. So she can be cleared to not use a sighted guide on trips. Sounds easy to me to do.
But Linda is her own person and can do as she feels comfortable doing, warm smiles.

Boy did I but in. My apologies Linda and Terry.

Warm smiles,

Becky and Jake

Hi Linda;
I think I would contact your NFB state President and tell that person, what is happening. That person should be able to assist you in reporting it to the right department of the NFB. If you can not find the state leader, go to the NFB in Baltimore, directly. David Andrews, who watches many of the NFB lists, should be able to help you find your state president. I think he is actually on this list. Maybe he will write you.
Let me know if you can not find his e-mail. It should be on your monthly comfermation e-mail.

Hi Terry,
Yes, I have had art shows, solo exhibitions, all over the world. My career is archived at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC.
I have a package here that I am getting ready to send them to add to the archive on me - anyone who goes to the archives dept. there can ask for my file and do research on my career and my art.

I have been doing exhibitions all over the world since the late 1970s. I
do Artist-in-Residency projects, with galleries and museums, too.Already working on project plans through 2013 at this time. I always have several exhibition projects in the que at any time. Art is my life and my business.

Thanks for the advice - it is very weird to me when a very mobile person is not permitted to travel on an event without a sighter guide when I do not need one at all.

About the clay. You can get whatever kind of clay you like and I am assuming it will be the kind that dries and does not need to be fired in a kiln. Your local crafts store can help you with this decision. Or, you can visit the dick blick website to order it online.

I do not use this kind of clay and don't know much about it. Clay IS messy and you cannot work on things just anywhere - I would never think of traveling with it, myself. I work on things on a spcial table in my studio, but I have worked on my kitchen counter too.

Working with clay is a slow process, it cannot be rushed. It is for very patient people, I would say.
You can listen in and get the scoop when I do the classes, of course. We will have two discussions first. I will talk about regular fired clay, and another person will address no-fire clays. Our discussion will address the differences in the clays as we have experienced them. We won't be teaching anything until our class projects in January. I have proposed to teach three projects, and will get that all settled with Joyce and she will make the official announcments, I think. Until then, I am working on the three projects myself, will be photographing each step of the project, and will write descriptions for each step. I plan to post them on my blog, and on FaceBook so everyone can access them at any time.

Right now, I am on my way out to the studio to give it a good cleaning today. I only work in my studio till December, after that, I work in my house over the winter time.

OH, there is no NFB organization in my area. The closest would be Pittsburgh which is an hour away - and I live in a rural area - most of PA is very rural - no transportation available for such a distance here. This group is my only contact with NFB.
