I never thought of it, but I guess you could knit a round item.  Just knit as if it were a long rectangle and when it comes off it should shape into a round item.  I think I would rather have the round looms.  They are not all that much.

This set sounds like the set I have.  Even though they are straight, it says that you can knit in the round.  However, I have not figured out how to do this.  I think I paid around $20 at my local craft supply store.

I went to Amazon, one of my favorite shopping sites and found a knifty knitter set. I will paste in the info below. I can't quite tell, but do you think they are saying that the set has both rectangular and round looms? by "long" loom, do they mean large? The price looks good from what you all have said. I suppose they are plastic. 

If this does not sound like a good set to you, please let me know. should I get sets of small looms as well?
