[Nfb-krafters-korner] Cutting Question

Good luck, Nicole, I was actually quite surprised at how neat my
quilt blocks came out. Just make sure your rotary cutter is sharp and a
cutting mat is essential for the task as well. I did use another surface
like thick plastic once, and it wasn't good for the blade of the rotary
cutter at all. If the sides of your hard board template is high enough, you
should be able to hold down your template and fabric with the one hand while
sliding the rotary cutter along the side of the template with the other. I
have been wondering about foam templates or perhaps cork board, but I
suspect that the sides of these templates might start to deteriorate quite
quickly with the blade sliding along the foam or cork surface. One could
also, perhaps, use thick card board, like the side of a box, but for me,
something a little heavier and absolutely rigid and straight, works best.
Good luck and let us know how you are getting along if you have a moment.
Lindy
