[Nfb-krafters-korner] Nfb-krafters-korner Digest, (Crazy quilting)

Hi Joyce,
I would absolutely love to join this discussion!!
I don't have much to offer in the way of tips and such because I'm just learning, but I'd love to listen and gain new information.
I've not yet done a discussion, so could you please tell me how that works? I also don't have a sowing machine of my own yet, would that be required? I'd really be interested in joining the sowing discussion too, if I had one here to use. Guess I'll have to wait on that one though. :)
FYI: quilting101.com is also a great site to find helpful information and resources.

Blessings,
Nicole

I did use another surface like thick plastic once, and it wasn't good for the blade of the rotary cutter at all. If the sides of your hard board template is high enough, you should be able to hold down your template and fabric with the one hand while sliding the rotary cutter along the side of the template with the other. I have been wondering about foam templates or perhaps cork board, but I suspect that the sides of these templates might start to deteriorate quite quickly with the blade sliding along the foam or cork surface. One could also, perhaps, use thick card board, like the side of a box, but for me, something a little heavier and absolutely rigid and straight, works best.
