The short row shaping does leave holes on each side where the heel is made. 
You can sew those holes shut with a bit of yarn or just leave them there, 
which is what I do.

Ok Tanya, what do I do about these holes where we did the short rows?
Did I miss a step somewhere while doing the short rows? I seem to remember 
with the slipper socks we ended up with 3 loops on a couple of pegs.
