Portia,

I don't know where you live, but some states offer a free program to
people with disabilities so they could have an accessible phones. some
states will even give folks a cellphone.

Now, I highly recommend you save up and buy an iPhone.  Don't forget
the monthly charges will cost too so you need to budget for that. That
all said though, you won't regret the investment. So, perhaps you give
up a few lattes from starbucks or don't eat out as much, but the phone
is worth it. Not only can you download really cool, and free, apps
that can help your craft hobby, but it is just a delicious phone with
delicious features that happens to be accessible out of the box.
