[Nfb-krafters-korner] yarn brands: what is good for what?

Just want to add my own comments to this list. It is a good one! The only
one that I would never agree with is number 3. Once you try a really good
quality cotton yarn, you will never again buy Sugar and Cream yarn. There
is an enormous difference between Sugar and Cream and a good quality cotton
yarn. Bernat makes a far superior cotton yarn and you can get it at
JoAnns...and I don't know where else. Also, if you buy a good mercerized
cotton yarn you will think you died and went to heaven - it is so amazing,
soft, smooth, holds it's color forever, and just far superior to the Sugar
and Cream. Good cotton yarns have a wonderful feel to them when the knitted
fabric is touched. And, they hold their color, and knit up beautifully.

Also, want to add that I have used ENCORE YARN for many projects. I buy it
at a LYS, and you cannot beat it for beauty and the price is fantastic. I
think I pay about 6. per ball, and it is a very large amount of yarn for
that price. I have made baby blankets and scarves with it - just wonderful
to use.
