This was brought up in the past and I am not sure who shared this with us,  
but please do tell us.  I never knew this either so I need some help to  
explain.
 
The needle gages [jknitting needle gauge] that you poke your knitting  
needles in to determine what size they are also corresponds to crochet hook  
sizing.  I don't know if they are labeled as such with print, but this was  
discussed on this list in the past.
