Has anyone sent you the recordings Cindy sent out about loom knitting?  Do you have the set of Knifty Knitter looms?  Send me your e-mail and phone number and I can get you started.  When Tonya is well, she can teach you more of the advanced stitches.  You need to get the hang of the basics, first, anyway.
Get some thick yarn, wooly thick and quick, to start with.
With thick yarn, you can loom knit, one stranded.  If you use thinner yarn, you will need to use 2 strands of yarn.
There ar different sized looms, but the knifty knitter looms are the cheapest and the best for a beginner.

I'd love to call you and discuss the looms.  I wasn't able to make the Monday night chat on Feb. 27, due to silly old transportation again.  All I can say is that 5:30 my time is difficult if I attend a class at Braille Institute.  Thanks for this message I received sometime back.  I hope you're feeling better.  I read your post saying that you had a 105 degree fever.  I had one of those once and it's no fun.

I don't have the tools but, I'd like to join you to see if this is something I'd like to start doing.  I'm geared to knitting with needles but, I've heard so much about loom knitting on the list that I thought the chat would be a good opportunity for me.  I live in California and sometimes I don't get home from Braille Institute early enough to join in on the Monday night chats.  If I don't make it, is there any way to get an understanding of loom knitting from another place or do you plan to do another chat?  Please let me know.
