Ninn,
I'm chuckling a little because I tend to skip all the pinning steps. Just Center it and sew! *laugh

Dixie, I think what Cindy is saying is this:

Lay the dishcloth out flat on a table. Fold the sides in towards the center
until it's width is equal to that of the potholder. Now, fold the dishcloth
in half to find the horizontal center. And mark with a pin on either side
of the dishcloth.

Open the dishcloth back up and flip it over so that the folded sides are
facing the table top and the right side of the dishcloth is facing up.

Then, fold the potholder in half to find its center and mark with pins.

Lay the potholder face down on the dishcloth matching the center markers.
The right sides will be facing each other.

Sew the dishcloth and potholder together along that center line. When you
finish and fold the potholder up to go around the handle of your oven, the
right sides of the potholder and the dishcloth will be facing out. Sew on
your button and you are good to go, right Cindy?

Blessings,

Threading Sewing Machine Needles

I am a bit confused.

I have a few questions:
1. When we sew down the center of the potholder is it from top to bottom or
side to side? 2. Where do we sew the potholder onto the towel? At the
fold mark we have just made?
3. Finally, where does the button get sewn onto? I understand that the
loop on the potholder is the button hole, but where is the button placed?

Thanks,

 Dixie

I have a quick and easy project for you! You purchase a pot holder and
kitchen hand towel that match or coordinate well together.

Locate the middle of the hand towel usually they are folded this way anyway.
Sew down the center of the pot holder with the "pretty side" out to the hand
towel. All you are doing is making one straight stitch which attaches the
pot holder to the hand towel. The loop of the pot holder becomes the button
hole. Line it up and sew on a large button. Now this pot holder will go
around the handle of your oven door. The button holds it in place.

Quick easy gifts!
