I really don't do anything to keep it in.  But, I suppose you could stick a 
rubber band around it or most anything to make some sort of tip.  It seems 
to just stay in place for me.  Most of my dropped stitches are toward the 
middle of my piece, probably because I seem to be more careful at the edges. 
One thing I have found out is that I drop a lot of stitches in the middle of 
the row.  I figured out that it is because I stop in the middle of the row 
and lay it down.  When I retrieve it and start to knit again, usually make a 
mistake in the pattern or drop a stitch or two.  My cure for that is to 
never stop in the middle of a row except in the case of a dire emergency 
like stabbing your hand with a size 8 needle and needing help to get it out, 
LOL.  What I like about it is that when knitting socks, for instance, I 
don't have to deal with a long circular needle with stiff pointed needles 
hanging off on both sides and I don't have to stock a number of different
