Let me pass on some advise for new folks looking into beading jewelry. I
am speaking from experience here. I have no light perception and was
totally new to beading. I did start out with size 8 seed beads, but at the very
first class given here, I just found the beads to be small, I did not
have the coordination with my hands with these small items, but I wanted to
learn some of the basics. During the class I ended up using a shoe lace and
some nice large wooden beads. With these I at least could follow what they
were doing and I could feel without a doubt the holes in the beads, the
shape of the knots being taught. I didn't care if the bracelet would fit
around my German Sheperd Seeing Eye dog's neck. I was able to follow what was
being described.

I have taken most of the classes here on beading. I eventually got down
to handling the size 6 and 8 seed beads.

And best of all it was my decision that I tried it and did not care for
working with these size beads.

I do like the beading part and I found that I really like the safety pin
beading creaations that Theresa teaches.

Maybe some day I will go back to these smaller beads, but it will be my
decision.

We do also teach determination around here. LOL

Holly, if you are new to beading, you need to begin with basic stringing
techniques. You will learn how to feel the beads, how to string them, and
how to attach a clasp and things like this. It takes practice to just do
these simple things - as they are not so simple when you cannot see what
you
are trying to do. After you master the basics, and learn how to do
multiple
strings, knots, etc, then you can go on to learn other things that
interest
you. One step at a time does it.
