Other looms
Martha Stewart looms

combinations of looms. plastic pegs. two sizes of gages in kit

Clover wonder knitter
Used to make I-cord. Plastic cylinder with two fittings for a three peg and
a six peg loom.
Knifty knitter spool loom
One piece loom in a spool shape with pegs on each end. . it is difficult to
get the I-cord through the loom.
S-shaped loom
Also called the Figure eight loom or the infinity loom
shaped like a figure eight can make 36, 48 and 60 inch flat panels without
piecing them together with the loom small enough to fit on your lap.
It has 2 rows of pegs like rectangle looms
Other hints about looming
Make a swatch to check your gage
Knit 20 pegs by 20 rows measure how many pegs per inch and how many rows per
inch
For the knifty knitter,
Placing a Paper towel inside the hole of a peg that has come out, then
replacing the peg and hammering it down will keep it in place
With the rectangle looms
When making things in double knit, they tend to expand.
When making things in single knit things tend to shrink
For the knifty knitter long loom
To use the long loom like a round loom, Knifty knitter loom has a clip you
can purchase that is a peg that clips on and comes up between the end peg to
make the spacing correct.
cast-on stitch for the long loom
Lucet cast on
Wrap in a Figure eight wrap the first two pegs twice, knit bottom loops over
top loops, tug working yarn to tighten stitches, then move on to the next
two pegs and repeat..
This keeps the work tighter at the beginning of the piece.
To avoid the piece getting wider in different spots, knit half way from one
end then half way from other end throughout the piece to keep stitches
tight.
