[Nfb-krafters-korner] Beading_ crystal gemstones

Linda, yes, the history and magic of the stones are fascinating to me, too. What a good idea, scanning the books. Did I already say you must have the patience of a saint? I'm not so sure I could sit and scan pages upon pages. Sometimes though, it's the only way to have access to a book one wants.

Yes, hematite is fabulous with the variety of things one can put it with. Sometimes, though, my creativity just flies right out the window. As much as hematite goes with, I have not mixed it with a lot lately. I have tons and tons of the stuff, and I used to put it with everything. It's time to revisit hematite again. Boy, so many beads, and no place to put them.

Ah, green opal ... That's a stone I've been contemplating. FMG started carrying it a couple of years ago, and I'd never gotten it. Now, I'll have to go and get me some. See what you did? *laughing*

Warm regards,
Sahar Husseini

Sahar, we are kindred spirits! I knew it! lol

I am always interested in the historical context of things, knowing where
they come from and how they have been used historically. I am particularly
interested in pre-history and ancient meanings. This makes my bead working
so fascinating, to know things in their historic context. That is why I
collect and read the books on crystals - because I want to KNOW.

Thinking about the books gave me an idea though. I am thinking that I could
scan them on my Kurzweil scanner. I could make a separate file for each of
the crystals and that way it would be accessible to me.

I work a LOT with HEMATITE, too. I love this crystal. It looks good when
mixed with just about anything. So lovely! When I do the Christmas markets
I have an entire hematite display set up with necklaces, earrings, and
bracelets that I have made. Each is different. I created a very nice sign to
put with my display. It lists the healing benefits of Hematite. I think it
is important to know what you are wearing and what it is doing for you. All
crystals have healing properties and if you know what they are you will only
  benefit from them.

My favorite crystal is my GREEN OPAL. When it arrived in the mail, I held it
in my hand. Within seconds it began to vibrate, like it has a heart. My
husband thought I was joking and I told him to hold out his hand. I told him
to relax and be calm and just hold it gently. He looked so surprised, and
said, "I thought you were joking! Yes, it is amazing. It is actually
throbbing with life." You see, everything in our world is alive and in the
process of change at all times. Everything! This is such an amazing thing to
really be aware of and the crystals are so alive.
