We could use numbers for the different shades of brown. Brown 1, brown 2
etc. and I will see if I can find someone who is willing to type up the
pattern.  
Once the Patriot class is confirmed, I am going to purchase both kits. Even
if we do not do it as a class, I am going to do that lab puppies kit for The
Seeing Eye.

That was the other one I was interested in as well. my sister told me that
that particular one had around eight shades of brown in it. so it would be
rather complicated I would assume, and yes the price was $34 if I remember
correctly. Whoever were to read the pattern would have to have a name for
each brown shade. My sister said that she would not be up to writing out
that particular pattern, but she did say she could handle the Patriot one.

I will see if there is  any contact info on the site, so we can find out if
they have a number of Patriot kits in stock.  then we will wait to see who
else is interested.
As for the puppy kit, I would have to think about that one for awhile, large
investment and a lot of time and work. I doubt I would get to something like
that anytime soon. I have a number of projects already lined up for the
spring, and in the summer I am in my garden all day, so do not do crafts in
the summer. well perhaps I will make an exception and take a Xmas in August
class or teach one.

They also have a lab puppies rug that I would like to make to donate to The
Seeing Eye for the on-line auction if I could find someone to translate the
pattern into electronic text. It's larger and more expensive than the class
limit, but if anyone else is interested in this kit, maybe we could work on
it together in an email class.

Hi all,

I heard from my sister and her husband who looked at the kits I posted about
last night.

They said that they did not like the American flag kit because it had brown
in it, making it quite dark. But there was another patriotic one that was
quite bright with only four colors that is only 12 inches square. less than
$8 as well.

The design is of seven stripes and a big star. Red, white and two different
shades of blue.

Sounds like a good starter project.
