Yes, knit one row, pearl next row is garter stitch in loom knitting it makes
the work look the same on both sides.

I bought "Learn to Knit on Circle Looms" and "Yarn Around". The brf format
is a file format you can use to emboss text from but it won't open in Word
and make sense., In my case, I can read this kind of file on a PACMate note
taker in either speech or with the refreshable braille display. I am sure
they have other file formats too, just ask them. I requested Row Upon Row in
electronic format too, but they don't have it available electronically, so I
am borrowing it in braille to see if I want to purchase it. I have barely
started reading "Learn to Knit on Circle Looms" and have already discovered
some new techniques. It lists 10 patterns in the table of contents, but I
haven't gotten that far. The patterns are all for the KK round looms. I'm
not very experienced, so this may sound like a dumb question, but it said
that if you use the knit stitch on row one and the pearl stitch on row two,
you have made a garter stitch. Does that sound right?

Row upon row does have patterns, it's the book I had during the 80's, then
lost during a move in 90. so tell me about the two books you purchased? did
they have patterns for the KK loom, or were they more general patterns. Did
you like the books? If so, which one, or did you like both. I am not
familiar with the .brf format, so I doubt I can access that type of file. Do
they offer it in other formats?  
I have a phone number and plan to call them next week, but any info you can
give me would be helpful.

I purchased the first and last of these three books from the Braille Library
and Transcription Services Inc. in electronic format. You can also borrow
books from this resource if you don't want to purchase them. I got them in
brf format and will be able to read them on my note taker. Not all their
books are available in electronic format, so I am going to borrow the
braille copy of Row by row which is a latch hook manual. I am hoping it has
patterns. I am also going to inquire about having latch hook  patterns
transcribed.
