we've got to say, but what YOU have got to say, as well. So check out the
Letters to the Editor section to see what's on your fellow Craftsy crafters'
minds.

That's just a sampling of all that awaits you. So get excited, dig in, and
enjoy!

Front Page Story: Craftsy Patterns

Craftsy Shows Its Love,
Support for Indie Designers

If you've been to the Craftsy website recently (and of course you have!),
you may have noticed a whole new item in the menu that runs along the top:
Patterns <http://craftsy.cmail4.com/t/j/l/cujbk/irtttuil/a/> . We're
thrilled to announce that Craftsy is set to become the newest (and best, we
hope) marketplace for crafters to find patterns by indie designers. Unlike
other popular sites, it's free for designers to sell and list their patterns
on Craftsy! We charge no fees, we take no commissions from sales.

Though it's not open for business yet, indie designers can start
<http://craftsy.cmail4.com/t/j/l/cujbk/irtttuil/f/> uploading their patterns
now! And trust us when we tell you, we've already had a lot of patterns
uploaded, and they look wonderful!

So if you're an indie designer, come to Craftsy to upload your patterns and
set up your own personal indie designer store! If you're a crafter who's
always after inspiration and interesting patterns, then get ready because,
in a couple short weeks, we'll be officially opening Patterns for the public
to browse and buy! Sign <http://craftsy.cmail4.com/t/j/l/cujbk/irtttuil/z/>
up now to be notified when the Patterns is live for consumers.

Remember it's completely free to list, and completely free to sell! At
Craftsy, we love indie designers and we love supporting them.

celebrate its release, we're offering 50% off if you enroll now! This class
will show you how to sew a drop-dead gorgeous dress and fit it flawlessly!
The class comes with a free dress pattern from Vogue, which after you learn
the techniques Susan teaches you, you can adapt into a breezy sleeveless, a

season.

Susan's class is incredibly fun, and so valuable to anyone who enjoys using
their sewing machine. She'll walk you through the construction of your
muslin, adjusting fit, zippers, hems and even more. Susan will guide you
every step of the way, and at the end of the class you will have one
head-turning dress, and the skills to make others.

Of course, Susan is eager to meet her students and answer all their
questions. Like all of our classes, we guarantee your satisfaction. Once

Dear Editor,

I have been a craft Mom for a group of Daisy/Brownie Girl Scouts for over 40
years. Really appreciate so many of the ideas. On my own time I do much
quilting and have collected many empty spools in a small aquarium. Now they
will get used as a Valentine greeting for Project

many good ideas!

Margaret,

One of the millions of reasons why we love crafting is that it gives us such
great opportunities to be resourceful. This is a perfect example of how you
can use almost anything to make something creative. Thanks for sharing,
thanks for your kind words, and thanks for giving us the chance to look at
your handiwork by creating a project!

My best,
David

Dear Editor,

I join in with all the others to say that I greatly appreciate your website.
I believe you do an excellent job with all you offer to us. Thank you. I
would like to ask if you ever do macrame? Lately I have seen a lot of
beautiful macrame bracelets with the chunky cording with clip connection
like on backpacks. They were just bracelets or even watch bands. I haven't
seen crafts books teaching this style and wondered if you ever offered this
class or resource?

Thank you for your time,
Danna

Danna,

Thanks for your question. While we don't currently have one for macrame in
particular, we're always coming out with new classes and workshops. So
perhaps we might in the near future. In the meantime, I searched for
"macrame" in our project section, and I found a number of them. This
<http://craftsy.cmail4.com/t/j/l/cujbk/irtttuil/jk/> scarf , in particular,
I found interesting not only because of how it looks, but because it comes
with a free pattern! Projects are uploaded all the time, and many times the
project owner will link to the pattern. This can be a great way to get
ideas, inspiration, and instruction!

My best,
David
