OK, I was hoping I was missing an easy verification method. We'll just keep
muttering away.

Neva,

I am reading and responding, so hope some one else hasn't answered your
question already.

I am having the same exact problem! it drives me nuts! I am constantly
muttering knit purl, knit purl as I count to remember where I was.

The only solution I know of is easier than what you are doing. when I begin
with a knit and end with a knit row, I am always going clockwise around my
loom. So if I am going that way and get distracted I touch each peg from
either end, muttering knit purl, till I get to where I am. Alternatively,
when I begin and end a row with a purl I am always knitting
counter-clockwise around my loom. So I mutter purl knit and touch pegs till
I get to my place. this method is still a pain in the neck, but at least you
need not take out stitches.

Cathy
