I will have to order one or two. It is just what I was hoping it would do and was trying to describe a while back. Super!

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] loom clip update

Hi all,

Today my loom clips came in the mail. They are quite nice actually and I will try to describe them to you. it is a hard plastic object with a peg sticking out the top. This peg is the same size as a loom peg and has a slit in its front and a top on it just like the other pegs. This peg is attached to a base that has a track running on either side of the peg. inside each track on the base is a tiny round bump sticking up.

Now remember these clips are for the long looms.

so what you do is to reach under your loom and find the holes that are running along the bottom of the loom, align the loom into the tracks and press it down over the tiny round bumps. The peg will emerge up through the loom and be in the center of the loom. in this way you can circle around the long loom in a U-shape and not have a gap caused by the end pegs which are not aligned properly. This clip also allows you to make your loom the exact number of pegs you desire. For example, say you want to make a project such as a blanket and need it to be 60 pegs wide. You have a 60 peg long loom, but without the clip you will have a gap right in the center of your project. So you'd attach your clip to one end of your 60 peg loom and you would then have 61 pegs. You would cast-on all around till there was only one peg left, then knit back using the flat panel method.

Of course the loom clip is also handy if your 24 peg round loom contains a half-made scarf and you want to make a 24-peg dishcloth and so must use your
24 peg long loom. <smile> of course this is exactly what I want to do. I am going to bring that loom and clip with me on vacation and make a dishcloth.

I'd rather not carry a large project like the scarf.

Hope I have described the clip and its uses adequately. Any questions, please ask, me or Tanya.

Cathy
