I have one something like Annette's and I got it at Sears. They helped me find a stove with frunt controls and a washer and drier with controls that I could turn and they would click and there would not be any tutch screen. I love it!

I even got a side by side frig from them.

We have a Whirlpool Duet front load washer and the matching dryer. We bought the set from Lowes. You can find the same and other models in this series at Sears, and H.H.Greg's. I'm guessing you can find it at any appliance retailer that sells whirlpool.

The washer and dryer can be stacked or set next to each other on pedestals as they call them. The steam feature is not available in all models. The steam feature serves a different purpose in the washer and dryer. I looked at many models before selecting this one. I felt that this was the most accessible. You set the type of cycle by turning a knob that has very distinct clicks so it is very easy to count. This knob makes a ding sound when you are on the Regular wash cycle. This gives you a reference point that does not change. All other buttons make sounds when you push them.
Buttons that toggle a setting on and off use a low high sequence for on and a high low for off. Buttons that have more than one setting use multiple pitches to indicate when you are moving up the list verses down the list. I do not feel that there is enough room to add braille to the face of the control panel of this washer.

There are 2 things that I need to accomplish related to my washer and dryer that I have not yet done. I want to write up a braille list of all of the cycles and the various options for all of the buttons, and obtain the insert for the dryer that allows you to place items on so that they can dry without being tossed around.

HTH,
Annette

Where did you get that washer if I may ask I'm looking for one that might be a top loader I don't like the adjitator in the center of the washers I think they ruin your clothes faster.

I have a front loading washing machine that has a steam clean feature. Thus far I have not found a stain that this feature can't remove. It has even gotten out old stains that went through the wash without being pre-treated, and then the item was put into the dryer locking the stain into the fabric..

To the lovely lady who has problems with stains on clothes, I keep a handy spray bottle of my acquired stain remover. I spray the areas most likely to get marked up and throw it in the washer. Now someone told me that Oxi-clean does a wonderful job of getting even stubborn stains out, plus it gfreshens the clothes. I personally have never used it thus far. But I know many who do use the product and love the results. With the spray it has gotten out blood, coffee, chocolate, and grime. I tend not to treat right away, so some blood does not fully come out, sorry. But hey tie dying is something we have learned at Krafters Korner, giggle.
