Are you using thick yarn to go with these huge hooks?

a J or K is good to learn on worstered weight yarn or a little thicker
yarn.

Those large hooks can be a bit hard to work with.

Cindy, I'll be hunting you down or anyone to help with even tension
with a chain. I'm as good as gold after a few rows but can't make even
chain stitches. Also, I'm using P or Q hooks because I can't seem to
learn anything new on tiny skinny little hooks. Is this common to use
bigger hooks to get the hang of things?
