[Nfb-krafters-korner] just figuring out crochet edgings on my own

Okay, hi, all.

I played around with an edging over the weekend. I just was playing
around with a sample swatch, practicing rows of different stitches and
feeling annoyed because I couldn't find Lion Brand Chenille Quick and
thick yarn at Michaels for a scarf I wanted to try.

Anyways, I thought I'd practice an edge. So, I finished off my sample
swatch and then started to crochet single crochet stitches around my
sample swatch. I got all excited and started putting 2 or 3 single
crochet stitches inside each of the last row of stitches I did (I
think they were double crochet stitches).

Okay, my question is, is it best to crochet only one edging stitch
inside each previously made stitch? Or, can you go wild and crazy and
put three into one stitch?

I realize you can probably do whatever you like but I noticed that
when it came time to crocheting down the second side something looked
a little crooked. And, how do you go around a corner?
