Hi all,

 

I have some not so good news, concerning my latch hook project. I got
two-thirds of the way through the pattern only to find that I had run out of
two different colors. There are a few possibilities for why this has
happened. One is that I made some mistakes, and though I may have placed a
few incorrect pieces of yarn, I am convinced that running out of these
colors with so many yet to be placed on the canvas, makes this possibility
unlikely. The second option is that my friend who sorted the colors decided
that the yarns that were supposed to be light and dark gold, were actually
other colors. Unfortunately the color packages were mixed and unlabeled,
making it guess work as to which color was really which. However, I trust my
friend's judgment so have also rejected this possibility. The third
possibility is that I was not given enough of the light and dark gold yarn.
Considering the fact that I have never dropped or spilled a bag of yarn, I
suspect that I have been shorted yarn.  

 

So this is why I am sharing my experience with you. I don't know if the same
thing will happen to you, but wanted to alert you to the possibility.

 

So what am I going to do?  well, I am going to finish the pattern and once
it is completed there will be the blank spaces where the missing yarn is
supposed to be in the pattern. I will ask some one to look at it and help me
decide whether I can substitute different colors I have, or whether I should
purchase yarn of the same color as the missing light and dark gold.  This is
a very disappointing and frustrating state of affairs for me, but at least I
have options. I am not giving up. I have put way too many hours into this
project to give up now.
