Wellcome I have been crochetting sence I was 13 years old. I learned how to
do it for a girl scout badg. I have made lots of things from things for the
kitchen and afghans to hats and mittens. I have even made a mitten that you
wear over top of your cane if it is very cold out and it really does keep
your hand warm. I even make doily's too and I have made a few doll dresses.
I have been told that I need to stop crocheting but I tell the doctors that
I can't because it to me is very relaxing. Oh well you take the good with
the bad I guess.

Hi,

I have finally joined. I live out in California and I've recently
started to crochet and knit using a knitting loom. I have knitted 3
baby hats and 2 scarves on the loom and I have crocheted 2 scarves --
all in the last month.

I'm a little stuck because I want to learn how to do cool projects and
I want to learn how to do more advanced stiches, etc, etc. My crochet
teacher is pretty busy and doesn't have a ton of time to teach beyond
what she has already taught me, which is to say, she's taught me how
to do a slip knot, chain, a single stitch and how to finish off. I've
read a crochet book my husband bought me for Mother's Day and have
learned, in concept, how to make other stiches like the half double
stitch.

I've downloaded and read a few iPhone apps that have taught me
additional stitches. I have arm wrestled my husband into watching
YouTube vids of looming techniques but he complains he doesn't know
what he is looking at and isn't a good candidate for helping me learn.

Anyways, I'm new and I'm open to learning how to learn.

any ideas are much appreciated. And, if anyone is willing to sit and
teach me a few tricks at Dallas, I'm game! I learn very fast.
crocheting is ihn my blood. My grandmother does it for a living in
Puerto Rico. My mom and sister crochet, but my mom was never able to
teach me. I've finally found someone who could teach me and I'm so
hooked.
