Not everyone holds the hooks and needles like the books recommend. Do what feels natural to you. If your stitches are too loose, then we can work on tension. I will be at convention and can try to help. See you at the craft sale and meeting.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] hand positions for holding crochet hook and yarn

Me again.

I feel like I'm not holding my crochet hook and yarn quite right. I
don't extend my index finger out like it is recommended in books I
have been reading. I use my left hand to yarn over and feel the hook
slide the loops through the stitches. because I use my left hand to
feel, I have a very hard time making a chain. I don't seem to have the
tension needed to make even stitches. Any advice? Do I need to quit
feeling with my left hand?

Thanks,
LM
