Hi,
I am completely new to yarn art. I have not tried a project other than the
loom knitting. How do you all count stitches or rows? I read a short
little article on an Austrailian blind commission which suggested taking
safety pins or straight pins and placing one in a container each time you
completed a row. Would this be helpful for a newby like me? I am looking
forward to learning to crochet. I just know there is a class just around
the bend!!!Please!!
Jill

Well you need to be consistent and come out with the correct stitch count,
so count your stitches when working the half double crochet and then do the
same each row.

great thanks for all the help.
Now where do I place the first stitch on a new row? Is it two from the
loop on the crochet hook? Does this just mean not crochetting into the
chains?
Thanks.
