Yes, it does remind me of ribbon, sort of. It belongs to the yarn catagory
often called ribbon, railroad, or ruffle yarn.

Yes, this is a fashion scarf, so you could wear it as an accessory to a
blouse, but it also looks great paired with a coat and can be just the
right little extra bit of warmth you need around your neck.

Knitting more tightly or loosely does not really apply with this technique.
 Your tension is basically fixed. When we go through the class and you
really have a chance to experience the yarn and technique together, you'll
understand this better. For now, let's just say you can use a bigger needle
if you need to, but I wouldn't deviate more than a size up or down.

One skein is enough to make a scarf that is about 5 feet long. Your second
skein will come in handy if you decide you want it to be longer.
