Sorry, in my directions I sent to the list, I did mistakenly say control P
for paste instead of control V. Control V is correct for paste.
Control P is correct for print.

Because that is the appropriate Windows command for paste.

V is paste, think of it like the baste under the back of an envelope flap
which is V shaped!  Control P is for print.

Hi,
I agree with your post, and I want to give a tip of what I do with Outlook
and getting email addresses to send private messages for anyone who is
interested.
I also have Outlook set to display headers, and I shift+Tab to the "From"
field. Then, I hit Control+A to select all, and Control+C to copy the "from
field" text to the clipboard.
After opening a new message, I hit control+P to paste the copied text into
the body of a message so I can get the needed email address out easily.
Then, I select the desired text for the email address I want, and I put it
in the "to field". I make sure the body of my message is empty before I
begin typing.
I'm sorry if this sounds confusing at all, but this is how I get an email
address to send off-list emails.
I do believe a "reply to sender" option would be very helpful, and I'm
trying to remember from previous list administration I've done using the
Mailman service as to whether or not that's possible.

A comment for Neva's email.

About the replies: there are times when I choose to reply privately and
other times I reply to the group. I try to decide whether or not my message
will benefit others as well as the intended recipient. this, of course, is a
judgment on my part. From past discussion on this topic, it sounds as though
some folks do not have the ability in their email program to highlight and
click on the actual person's email address who  is sending the message. I
personally use outlook and I have it set to display header information. So
when I need to reply personally, I must use my jaws cursor to find and spell
out the person's email address. Then I open a new message, type in their
email and am ready to go. It takes a few more steps to accomplish, but, I
agree that some types of messages are best sent privately such as birthday
greetings, expressions of support etc. however, the "me too" messages
answering whether or not some one is interested in having a chat or class
are good, because it gives me an indication as to whether or not there is
interest, which usually interests me.

To answer Joyce's question as to what to do:

Maybe you could see if Dave can give us the ability to use "reply to
sender," and "reply to all," functions. This would make it easier for folks
to easily choose how to reply.
