[Nfb-krafters-korner] Speaking of Christmas crafts

Does anyone have any thoughts on tips for keeping our letters in straight
lines? I am thinking of giving my family that shares the same last name some
balls that say "Jackson family Christmas 2012" and of course a traditional
merry 
Christmas would be nice too. What are some of you thinking of?

I have seen painted Styrofoam balls at hobby lobby and maybe walmart also.
I bought some a few years ago to donate at my old office for decorating the
Christmas tree in the lobby.  I bought navy blue with sparkles because we
were doing a patriotic theme since it was a SSA office.

I was talking to henry about using spray painted balls, if we could not get
the right balls.  This might hold up better, if we could get someone to
paint them or if they come sold that way.

An idea for those who are low vision, my husband took puffy paint and wrote
a name in tactile print with the paint and I made the name in Braille on
label tape for the kids in Lucas' class last year.  It was on plastic
Christmas balls.  I think the idea of the beads and or ball pins sounds
great on the satin balls.  What could you use to help the raveling on the
satin balls?  My kids seem to be able to get those strands of satin all over
the place!!;) Jill

Another idea would be to by the sticky gems and stick them to balls in
Braille word formations.

I've been reading the posts on this craft and would like to know if someone
is thinking of doing a class on it or a chat on how to do it.  If so, let me
know because I've always wanted to do crafts using Braille.  I think making
the balls would be very fun and they would look interesting and pretty,
especially with the Christmas colors.

P.s.  Sorry I haven't been throwing in my two cents as I usually do but, my
husband and I have had some family and friend deaths and health problems. 
I'm still around, though  reading the posts and trying to keep involved with

Making Braille with beads on the styrophoam, I would not use the pins with
the big heads.  You would want the color beads to be your round dots for the
Braille and have control of the color of beads.
