Oh, do you mean there is another short row technique that does not have the
wrapped yarn?

In this class I will not be using the wrap technique which has you pick up
the wrapped strand along with the slipped stitch. I am considering teaching
another short row class maybe early in the new year that uses the wrapped
short row technique.

Hi Annette,

I made a pair of socks once, a long time ago. I used the short row technique
for the heel, but I can't remember how to do it now. However, I was told
that when you work short rows, especially when making socks, you need to
pick up the little bit of, I guess you could call it, float yarn, on the
return row to avoid tiny holes. Will you be covering this technique in your
class?

If you want an introduction to using the knitted short row technique, then
block off your calendar for Saturday September 28 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
All you need is some yarn from your stash and needles appropriate for the
yarn. Once the class is posted to the website you can sign up.

If you know how to do the knit stitch, cast on and bind off, you are ready
to take this class. You will learn how to slip a stitch and follow this
simple pattern to make triangles that are stacked up. We will discuss how
using different yarn or needles, as well as changing the stitch count and
formula for the pattern repeat will give you never ending options for
creating scarves, dish towels, washcloths, placemats, and more. The short
row technique is used to shape your work, or add design elements. The heel
of socks can be done with a short row technique similar to the one being
taught in this class.

Hope to see you on September 28 as you take your knitting to the next level.

Annette
