Jill,
thanks. are classes free?
I'd definitely want something simple to begin with and something that isn't
so time consuming; I just lose interest with projects that take forever and
only look half done.

glad to see you all have a website.

Ashley,
Nice to have you with us. I understand not having hours to devote to a
project. I am a full time mother of 3. I used to work but decided to be at
home with my children for a while. Anyway, I am sure you will find
something that interests you here among our group. Check out our website
www.krafterskorner.org
to see what new classes will be starting soon. Maybe one of the classes on
there will spark your interest. Glad to have you on the list!
Jill

Hi all,

My name Is Ashley and I am not new to nfb, but new to the list.
I am a young adult who is job exploring and willing to take most entry level
job I am qualified for although my interests lie in communications, event
coordination, and outreach but I'm fine being a clerical assistant for now.

My interests include reading, writing, bible study, card games, and bowling.
I also enjoy working out. I'm looking for a craft to try and thought I'd
join this list for a bit to gain ideas.

I have had some craft exposure through public school and various camps, for
the blind or not.
I had to stitch a small pillow together while at some girl baptist camp. I'm
not baptist, but went because they were encouraging vision impaired people
to come and they would provide guides.
I've also worked with a small loom to make a hat at our state center. I've
worked with clay making various things but mainly I made pinch bowls and
painted them after they were fired.
At school we did a little work with beads and weaving.

I am considering taking a class at a community center in beading, other
jewelry making, knitting or pottery.
I could not do pottery at home though as we do not have a kilm. So maybe
jewelry or weaving or knitting would be more realistic.

I want to find a new hobby. I'm not sure I have the patience for the tedious
task ofknitting or crocheting. but worth trying it.
Crafts often take concentration and time. While I am willing to devote some
time, I do not have hours to do something, and I think it takes hours to
knit or crochet.

Anyway, that is some about me and I have lots of questions.

Ashley
