I understand...this just might not be the method of teaching that works best for you.  You might just be a "hands on learner".  If you are going to national NFB convention, this is a great time to learn new things from others.  During our "Make and Take" at the craft sale you can learn new crafts with someone right there to help explain how it is done.  

Something that might also help you is if you "audit" a class which means you just sit and listen.  Sometimes if you get an idea of how it works and mull it over a few days before you actually try it helps some people.  Plus, most instructors have been very gracious at giving out their e-mail or phone number for help.

Don't get frustrated crafting is to be fun.

I didn't sign because I didn't know how much yarn, and I find that when I
struggle everyone offers to help, but then it never works out so I end up
with all these unfinished projects so I've stopped taking classes for a

Hey folks  we only have Jill and Henrietta signed up for Henry's Class
beginning this Wednesday.  Don't you want to learn how to make an afghan on
your loom?  I don't think it is any special loom. 
 
Henry isn't it a round loom?
 
Come on now, did Henry do something in classs to scare everyone away?
