Hey there Dixie
Ah, when I am ready to try sock making, can you tutor me? You were one of
the ones who got me involved in yarns and knitting.
After I finish my two scarves, socks will be next on the list of
things to attempt.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Magic loop and that pesky tail

Hi Lynda,

I mostly use Magic loop. For me, it is easier than the dpns. Keeping an eye
on all those points can be a challenge! Using the circular over the dpns
makes it so I have one less thing to keep track of while knitting.

For Magic loop you basically use a circular needle, with a long cable so you
can pull 2 loops of cable out through your stitches. You will then have 3
sets of stitches one set on your left needle, one set on your right needle
and one set between the two loops of cable which sort of pop out like bunny
ears.

It is a fluid technique in that you are constantly pulling the loop out
further down the work as you knit off a bunch of stitches.

As for the pesky tail? They are so aggravating! I have taken to tying a
pony bead on the end of the tail, so I can sort of notice the weight if I
pick it up and get it accidentally into the work.

Dixie
