[Nfb-krafters-korner] Superbowl Knitting

Perfect! A friend gave me a hearts pattern that I am going to make but it is
too much to remember and keep straight during a football party. This is
simple and even introduces a new stitch combination. Love it!

BTW, I just signed up for the next yarn series. I think the deadline to
register is Super Bowl Sunday for anyone who hasn't done it yet.

Thanks Sarah,

Karen

You asked, I'll deliver!

Here's a great one row scarf pattern for you as a suggestion of what you
might do while waiting for the next awesome commercial to air this Sunday.

I'm actually wearing the scarf I made from this pattern right now

The pattern is by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. I quote her here between lines of
dashes

--------------------
Start: Cast on 26 stitches (to make it wider or narrower add or remove
stitches in groups of 4 )

Row 1: *knit 2, knit into the back of the next stitch, purl 1. Repeat from
* till there are 2 stitches left. Knit 2.

Repeat that one row every row until you can stand it no longer, your scarf
is long enough or you run out of yarn, whatever comes first. Cast off.

This pattern is quick, easy, has only one row to learn, is reversible,
looks good in any gauge, is easy to make wider or narrower (making it
awesome for handspun) and looks (I believe) fabulous.
--------------------

For you beginners, knitting in the back of a stitch is the same as regular
knit stitch, only you stick your needle into the leg of the stitch that is
on the back side of the left hand needle instead of on the front side as
normal. You then wrap the yarn around the right needle, pull it through,
and drop the old stitch off the left needle, just like ordinary knit
stitch.

You can knit this scarf with any gauge yarn, but I recommend something with
variegated colors, but it will look wonderful in a solid color also. I knit
mine using Knit Picks Stroll Tonal, which is a fingering weight yarn, in
the Summer Blooms colorway, which is a handpainted yarn in lots of shades
of pink.

Cheers,
