[Nfb-krafters-korner] beginning knitter

To continue with a report from one beginner knitter--I started right
around Christmas time, I took my two knitting projects up to the neighbor's
this morning to be checked for necessary fixes. The two hours of work I did
last night was declared drop or split stitch free. Even my rows and borders
on the newest piece are straight and tight.
I used to have big loops at the beginning of each new row. I was
coached to slip that stitch to try to avoid that, but that didn't work. I
was then told to pay attention to it, and to keep enough tension there so
the stitch was not too big. I don't slip the stitch anymore, I just knit it,
and it's working.
I also used to have a narrow piece of fabric at one end of the
needle hanging down and a wider piece at the other end. That isn't happening
anymore either, at least not in what I did last night.
Is this the beginning of a notable improvement? I sure hope it
lasts.
Forget about the seed yarn, I just tried it on size 2 double ended
needles and I see I am not in for any great leap there, I hadn't remembered
just how thin that yarn was, let alone trying to use a needle as big around
as a toothpick.

Ok, so that is it for my reports until I graduate to a whole new
level or finish at least one of these scarves. I hope I have not bored you
all.
