I saw that it was coming up, but was up to my eyes in Helen Keller festival
stuff. Michael's parents were here as well. I didn't realize that you
could review it later. Thanks so much. I found out that the Helen Keller
birthplace foundation and a group of Vision teachers from University of
Alabama, Birmingham, UAB, are starting a camp this fall. It is for school
age blind and or deaf children it is called camp courage. I want to be
part of it for sure! I want to get some ideas together for arts and crafts
and see if I can teach a few classes. The drawing in Braille might be a
great project.

Jill, Hadley recently had a seminar on drawing with braille. I
listened to the recording which is available on Hadleys web site.
They describe line by line how to draw five or six different
pictures. Have your braille writer or slate ready because they
give you time to draw during the seminar.

Henrietta and I have both made greeting cards with braille
pictures.

Have fun with it.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] books by Marie Porter

Hi,

I know we have been discussing the book " A Manual for Macrame".
I went on
a search mission, but looks like Terry Powers is the only person
with a copy
of this book! I did however discover that Bookshare.org has "
Brailleables,
So What About Drawing" by Marie Porter. It sounds great! It
gives details
about using your Braille writer to draw and express art through a
medium
that can be felt! I have downloaded it, but haven't started it
yet. I just
wanted to pass it along. I only learned Braille as an adult.
Some of you
may be familiar with drawing with a Braille writer. I think it
would be
great to draw for my kids!
