I did say I was not a gardener,.  I aklways pickles were small  cucumbers.

fried green  tomatoes maybe a bit less tart. they sure do as fried green 
tomatoes if you  don't eat them side by side. There are always lots more cukes 
then green  tomatoes. lol Give them a try.
