Jill:
You should be commended for sticking to Braille until you learned it and
then using it. The more you use it, the ore you will like it and ythe
better you'll be.
I have taught Braille the more than 40 years; I began to learn and use
Braille when I was five, in 1950. I just wanted to say that any of you who
want help or support in learning Braille, I am open to helping; supporting.
I am finishing teaching a student Braille from the Hadley materials, so I am
somewhat familiar with it. Everyone has to decide how far they want to go
with the Hadley courses, but once you learn the basic system--reading and
writing--you may want to just use it and find more stuff to read. Unless
you plan to use computer Braille or grade three braille, there is really no
need to learn those.
Good luck to all you braille learners.
Susan
